Natural Mined or Laboratory Grown Diamonds?

Introduction to Natural and Lab-Grown Diamonds  💎

The diamond market today offers consumers two chemically and physically identical options:

Natural diamonds and Laboratory-Grown diamonds.

The key difference lies purely in their origin and formation time.

Natural diamonds are geological marvels, formed deep within the Earth's mantle over billions of years under intense

heat and pressure, eventually brought to the surface through volcanic activity and then mined.

They are a finite resource, embodying a history of natural rarity and luxury.

In contrast, Laboratory-Grown (or cultured) diamonds are created in a controlled laboratory setting in a matter of weeks

using advanced technology, primarily High-Pressure/High-Temperature (HPHT) or Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) methods,

which precisely mimic the Earth's natural formation conditions.

They are composed of the exact same crystallized carbon structure as their mined counterparts,

making them optically, chemically, and physically identical.

At Bow Diamonds we offer you peace of mind in ensuring all our diamonds are clearly identified as either laboratory grown or naturally mined and this is reflected, and easily identifiable within our logo.

The central 'quality dot' in our logo, which represents a diamonds certified Type & Colour grading can be any one of the seven different gemstone colours for naturally mined diamonds. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.

Only white (clear) or black gemstones are used for lab grown diamonds, clearly separating in a visual way the two types of diamond.
