Why Bow Diamonds?
Diamonds have been valued and coveted for thousands of years but it was only in the 1950's when the
Gemological Institute of America (GIA) formally created it's universally recognised diamond grading system, known as the 4C's.
This system is now the industry standard for diamond grading throughout the world and there are several other trusted diamond grading laboratories around the world including GIA, IGI and HRD using the same grading system.
There are natural mined diamonds and laboratory grown diamonds (also known as lab created diamonds),
and both have their own following of fans for a variety of reasons, some being:
Natural diamonds - Uniqueness, limited supply and rarity, geological process to find, production, history.
&
Laboratory grown diamonds - Excellent price, ethical production, technological advances, lower carbon footprint.
Natural diamonds and laboratory grown diamonds are graded
on their most important aspects, commonly known as -
The 4C's - Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat.
Along with Type i.e. whether the diamond is lab grown or a natural diamond, these aspects are regarded as the
best ways to evaluate a diamonds quality and overall value.
Once diamonds have been evaluated, and their quality grades decided upon, the larger stones often have a certificate
attributed to them and the smaller stones are sorted into their appropriate grades.
However, when these stones are set into jewellery, quite often,
it is not possible with the naked eye to identify the afforementioned diamond qualities of Type and Cut, Colour and Clarity
"Bow Diamonds solves this by using its unique logo as a visual diamond quality identifier,
allowing to visually show the Type, Cut, Colour & Clarity of each diamond in each piece of jewellery made"
